Sorry for the lack of updates...I thought since Tory had computer access, that she would be doing this by now.
To sum up the week....Tory is recovering just fine and SHE IS GOING HOME TODAY! YEAH!
Things seem to be healing nicely. Her weight has moved up to 122 pounds (she may still lose 10 of that), and she is off of most of her tubes. She'll apparently go home with a couple sticking out of her abdomen...but you don't notice them so much when she has a shirt over them. :) I believe that they'll be removed within the next few weeks. I hope. It could cramp our love life.

It's Saturday...The day after Tory's 3rd surgery.
Let's just say "Drugs are bad...Mmmkay." Tory had a really weird reaction to the Morphine in the middle of the night. She said that she couldn't focus her eyes well and that she felt like she couldn't breathe. At one point she started hyperventilating so badly, that she really didn't seem like she could breathe. I held her hand and helped her out while her mom when searching frantically for a nurse or two. She just took in too much morphine than her little frail body could handle. They switched over to a new drug to help her with her pain and she seemed to do fine after that.
Other than that excitement, it was back to baby steps on her road to recovery. She was able to sit up today for a while (twice) and she did get a chance to try and walk. She went about 20-25 feet before having to turn around and go back, but it was a start. The doctors also did take her weight today. She was at a comfy 122 pounds. That was the weight that she was around before she went in. She was relieved to see that.
We spent most of the day watching "Friends" on DVD. I think we've knocked off about 1/2 of the 3rd season already. We've got the 1st season of C.S.I. and Six Feet Under in the cue, so she should be set for entertainment for this week...hopefully her last. She hates the hospital, but we have agreed that there would be no way that we would be coming home again without making sure that everything was working fine.
Since Tory's mom is now here, I'll probably be returning to work on Monday. My students have chewed up and spit out about 5 different substitutes in the past few weeks. I'll probably work and then immediately run back to Swedish to be with my girl. I'm home tonight because Tory became a little paranoid over the lighting that we use on her reptile collection. I think our dogs will also be happy that things will soon be returning to normal.
