Out of my head and onto the page

This is just various and sundry blatherings about life, the universe, and everything. Right now I'm on WW, just about done and at goal, and so I'll probably talk about things like that. I may also talk about my teaching, my husband, my pets, the state of the union, or whatever pops into my wee little brain.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Okay, darn. This is the second time I've written a blog and it hasn't taken. But I shall not let that dampen my mood because I am young and in love and today is Valentine's day.

So why am I writing this instead of wooing my honey? Because he's doing the dishes while I relax after cooking a wonderful meal. The menu for this evening's fest: Not too shabby! See, you CAN have celebratory meals without overdosing on points. And yes, those points are accurate. I weighed and measured everything. The steak was delicious and was a Weight Watchers recipe. Desert will be: CHOCOLATE DECADENCE
2 servings No Pudge Chocolate Brownie, prepared
1 Tsp warmed Hershey's chocolate syrup
1/3 cup mixed berries
2 Tbs Cool Whip Free

Prepare the brownies as directed. Top with berries (sweeten with splenda if you'd like). Drizzle with warmed Hershey's syrup and top with whipped topping.

Serves 2

Points 2

So for an entire celebratory meal, complete with dessert we're spending 10.5 points and leaving the table stuffed. I would have added a vegetable on top of all of this, but frankly I'm stuffed.

Of course that's not the highlight of the weekend, but I did want to show you that you can enjoy a really nice, "normal" meal that tickles your tastebuds and leaves you satisfied while still staying on program. I know a lot of people say "Well it's a holiday and how many holidays do you have in a year?"

Well...try dozens. So that's dozens of excuses to go off program? I think not.

Tomorrow we're heading to Seattle for a weekend out. We're staying at the Westin and seeing "A Chorus Line" at the Fifth Avenue Theater. Sunday we'll wake up and have a nice breakfast and then see the ever-romantic Harlem Globetrotters.

Hey! I like the Harlem Globetrotters!

We're seeing them because my honey heard me say "Oh that would be fun! Remember when we saw them when we were kids?" I also mentioned "I would have liked to have seen A Chorus Line, but I'm glad we saw "The Producers" instead."

You can't say anything around that man!

He's definitely a keeper!! I love him more than anything.

I am a very lucky girl.

And tonight...well, he's a lucky guy too.
