It's Time for a Weekly Recap!
So share with me, people! What has happened to you this week that is good? What rocked your world? What brought a smile to your face? What made you laugh out loud?
Actually, that's a fun format. I think I'm going to use it. So here is a recap of the good things that happened to me over the last week.
What happened to me this week that was good:
- Even though it wasn't fun getting "stuck" in Minneapolis, we did get a free hotel room and food from the airline and it was a new experience.
- Because I had thought ahead and set out lesson plans, getting stuck in Minneapolis wasn't nearly as stressful as it could have been. In fact, neither of us really stressed out about it at all.
- We took an awesome long "snow walk" on Tuesday. While I don't want to add an extra day to our already long school year, it was pleasant to be able to enjoy the snow and sit in front of the fire and spend time together on a blustery day.
What rocked my world?
- I biked 12 miles and ran a mile and have decided that three days a week I'm going to combine my biking with my running to crank it up a notch for the triathlon training.
- New York City was AWESOME!
- Seeing four Broadway plays in five days was something I'd only dreamed of.
- Ice skating in Rockerfeller Center for an hour and a half and thinking back to the first part of this year when I was so sick made me feel incredibly blessed.
- Hugh Jackman has a very nice ass.
What brought a smile to my face?
- Today one of my girls asked about my weight loss and said "But you're so cute now! I can't imagine you were ever not cute. You're just SO cute!"
- Roy brought home a DVD of all of Wierd Al's music videos and said, "Here, this is for you and your kids. They'll love it!" He was right! I showed it after the FITP meeting today and a bunch of them stayed to watch it with me and we all sang along.
- When we got home my kitten, Boo, was so happy to see us that she literally glued herself to one or the other of us for two days.
- As I type this Roy is going through all of his movies finding scenes of New York City so he can "relive" the trip. He's so darn CUTE!
What made me laugh out loud?
- Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick were painfully funny in "The Producers" and, good news, as soon as they are done with this run...it's going into movie production!
- Roy bought me another DVD when he got the Wierd Al one. He found "From Justin to Kelly" already in the bargain bin for $5!! Hahahahahaha!
- I'm listening to Al Franken's "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them" while working out at the gym today and couldn't stifle my guffaws...then laughed at myself for laughing out loud. I'm sure people think I'm a total nut.
What made me count my blessings?
- Today I nearly missed getting into an accident when an elderly man turned right, then instead of completing his turn kept going into the next lane. Yipes!
- Ice skating for an hour and a half! Not only did I think of last year, but the last time we tried to skate we were both so heavy that it was impossible. We were in such pain that we had to stop after going around two times. This time I only stopped because the session was over.
- Even though New Years Eve in Times Square was so not fun, I'm so happy to have a husband who wants to do things like that...build new memories and experiences.
- Roy just put in the movie "Little Shop of Horrors" so we can watch it together...so I guess I'd better go!
